2023 Dental workshop

On September 16, 2023, the Warpitect Dental Club. led by Everett Lu, organized a presentation on oral hygiene for families with special needs children. The primary objective was to empower parents and families with the knowledge and practical tools to promote effective oral hygiene practices for their special needs children.

The audience, composed of parents with special needs children, showed a strong interest in grasping the significance of oral hygiene and how to pass this knowledge on to their children effectively.

The presentation featured a well-structured agenda, including a slideshow lecture and dental workshops. It delved into the two main factors contributing to tooth loss: gum disease (periodontitis) and oral cavities, utilizing engaging videos suitable for sharing with children. The presentation then detailed proper oral hygiene practices, with one video demonstrating the correct tooth-brushing technique and another illustrating proper flossing. Following the lecture, club members worked with the parents to practice these techniques in real-life scenarios.
